Exploring a New Gateway Vision for the City of Colwood. THE CHALLENGE Having recently updated their Official Community Plan (in 2018), the City of Colwood sought to explore a more detailed urban design vision for the "gateway" and "triangle lands.” THE RESPONSE With a particular focus on landowner engagement and plan implementation, MODUS supported the City in a series of visioning, planning and design workshops to better understand interests, obstacles and opportunities. Ultimately, the design vision was summarized in a report to City staff, including recommendations related to overall urban form and function and specific considerations for density, development incentives and placemaking opportunities.
