While our office is based in Vancouver, we are open to considering applications from candidates based on Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, and the Fraser and Okanagan Valleys, who would be willing to travel to Vancouver when required to collaborate with our team and clients. We are also open to someone who may wish to only work 4 days per week.
THE OPEN POSITION
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner with Urban Design experience to help shape, manage and deliver community planning, design, and engagement services. Please note: this is not an entry-level position. You will be responsible for taking the lead on a diverse array of planning, design & engagement related projects, working with clients and communities with varying priorities and points of view.
Specifically, the Senior Planner/Urban Designer will:

Develop community/neighbourhood plans, master plans, policies, and guidelines.

Prepare development applications, including OCP & zoning amendment
applications.

Conduct Stakeholder & public engagement (both in person and virtual), including
preparation and implementation of engagement strategies and events (e.g., charrettes, workshops, etc.)

Conduct research and data analysis to support planning and engagement work.

Actively contribute to Business Development by fostering strong relationships with

clients and collaborators, and writing quality proposals.

Manage projects, including project budgets and timelines, and leads teams towards

their deadlines and deliverables.

Support and mentor staff at MODUS.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR THIS ROLE

Strong organizational and project management capabilities, including experience managing large multi-disciplinary teams and multiple projects in BC.

A degree in planning (or a related field) and 8+ years professional experience

Expertise in document creation and coordination using Adobe Creative Suite
applications, in particular InDesign and Illustrator.

Experience preparing proposals and presentations.

Experience in public/stakeholder engagement.

A creative, curious, and collaborative attitude and working style.
COMPENSATION, PERKS & BENEFITS

Base salary range of $89,866 - $111,475; plus individual and team performance bonuses (target salary $105,725 - $139,343)
