Sydney Edwards
Planner
Sydney is a planner who is grateful to be based on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ Nations. With a Master of Community and Regional Planning and a B.A. in Sociology from UBC,
she brings an intersectional lens that considers how planning can address systemic inequities. Her work spans affordable housing development, tenant relocation policies, and strategic planning initiatives for diverse clients, including non-profit and Indigenous clients. A common thread in her work is the focus on creating inclusive, equity-based processes that center those most impacted by planning decisions.
Sydney believes that co-creation is essential to building healthy communities. She is motivated by collaborative planning and engagement processes, and brings her strengths in graphic design, research, facilitation, qualitative and quantitative research, and writing to the team.
Outside of work, she can often be found biking around the city, reading in cafés, or climbing.
