Infill Housing Renders

Illustrating Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing for BC Neighbourhoods.

THE CHALLENGE

Small Housing BC sought to create an accessible online design library to help demystify recent provincial legislative changes introduced through Bill 44. Intended as a resource for both the public and industry professionals, the library provides clear, visual examples of small-scale multi-unit housing through renders, architectural drawings, site plans, and supporting materials.

THE RESPONSE

MODUS collaborated with a multidisciplinary consultant team to develop a series of infill housing designs situated within typical BC neighbourhood contexts. Thirteen design concepts were produced, each supported by detailed architectural and landscape architectural plans and rendered in two architectural styles - contemporary and traditional - for a total of 26 visualizations. The designs were developed to illustrate how small-scale multi-unit housing can be accommodated on standard residential lots, respond to common site constraints, and integrate seamlessly into the character and fabric of established single-family neighbourhoods in British Columbia.
